7th January 2013

Hi Family and Friends,

The Wheats have made it to Wallaroo!!!  We have made it to the coast and have dipped into the Spencer Gulf for a cool off.  Well what a day it has been today!

Firstly we awoke to some nice country sounds, a few a cars whizzing by on the Old Princes Hwy, but James had found us a really good, off the road spot to stop and sleep.  Naomi had been driving - a long time,  and we missed the last rest stop, we think we had to turn off the exit but it wasn't clear.  Anyway, night time was sure here and we wound off another exit, went through a little dark town, with narrow streets and eventually found this little haven.  Well the stars were out and they were magnificent.  Kids were smacked and sent to bed (another story line) and so did the grown ups!  Here is the funny thing... we parked near some piles of dirt which had grass growing on them....well weeds anyway....  then we heard the trucks and they weren't going past they were coming in!!!!  Well, if they didn't dump more piles of dirt right next to us!!!  The first truck driver waved at James and the next one was just 'doing his job" (meanwhile Naomi was packing hurriedly up)  we hit the road pretty fast and we were out of there.

We came across Mt Barker, in Adelaide, and was trying to get in contact with the Hayter family.  The town was quite nice and we picked up some supplies, a little somthing for the beautiful Elisha and some morning tea.  We got in contact with Cheryl and her sister Michelle, who has been holidaying with Cyheryl and we arrived in the suburb of Greenacres.

We had a wonderful visit with them, Justin was unfortunately away for work, arriving this week though, just missed him. Eleisha was simply adorable, a bit shy at first and wondering why on earth we were at her house, when most of our contact with her of course was in Perth.  She soon warmed up and she played with the big kids and we chatted about our adventures and we had a tour of their lovely home.  We then parted and travelled on our way up out of Adelaide through Wildhorse Plains, to Port Wakefield for lunch (a small town with about 3 petrol stations) a little waterway goes through part of the town, where we ate and fed the seagulls.

We checked out a caravan store to see if they had some load leveler levers, but they didn't but the lady did tell us about a ferry from Wallaroo to Lucky Bay, which means missing out on Port Augusta and Whyalla but we had already been to Port Augusta and who could miss this exciting journey across the Spence Gulf on a ferry!!  Not us Wheaties, so that is why we are where we are... to go on a "cruise" with Milly and Patsy.

So Good night, from a very friendly caravan park right next to the ferry docking bay, where people are saying Hi and are talking to us about Milly ( that would be Dennis, a resident who lives in a Millard as well)

love the Wheaties xxxx
