18th December 2012

Well, we woke up to the thundering sound of a diesel locomotive only meters from our park spot about 10km west of Meckering.

Sarah relaxing in her seat
The kids explored the area, and with a hammer set about determining how strong the termites nest really was.... ahhh science at work, how Naomi's heart sings...and then yells at them to stop!  Found out that the Engel didn't want to work and we set out to Merredin to find a dealer who could fix it. ( The fridge is running but not cooling). This meant on the road as soon as we could eat our cereal and head east.  Well we got there and no-one was available - boo hoo... So we rang the next Engel helpers which was in....Kalgoorlie... yep in Kalgoorlie.  Not the biggest detour but a detour nonetheless. It was a long hot drive which James did most of the driving. Naomi pitched in after having a snooze and she drove from Southern Cross to Kal.  Here we ask that you keep us in your prayers to stay alert while driving.  Kids are doing great in their seats and we stop every now and then.  We saw two amazing willy willies, one was really tall, the kids were impressed and asked all sorts of questions about what it could pickup and what it would do to them if they walked into one.

Set up at the Prospector Caravan  Park - Kal.
We got to the "Fridge" place in Kalgoorlie and while they are really busy, one guy has stayed back to help us.  This means that we have to stay the night in Kal, while he works on the fridge to work out what is wrong.  We chose Prospector Caravan park. Nice park, a lot of workers coming in the afternoon but it has a GREAT pool which we relaxed in - oh yeah.  Kids have already made a friend.  Now we bask in the evening sunset as we sip our iced water.  Goodnight.
